How to Apply

Application Instructions

Prospective students must apply online to the Program in Neuroscience through the University of Arizona Graduate College. The following steps must be taken to complete an application:

Step 1

To begin the application process and access the online application, visit the application website (apply.grad.arizona.edu/users/login). You will be required to upload your personal statement and CV or resume through the online application system. You will also be required to provide the contact information for the persons writing the 3 required recommendation letters, which may then be submitted online by the recommender.

Step 2

International students should send the TOEFL scores to the University of Arizona (school code: 4832, department code: 30).

Step 3

Sending your official transcripts is not required but if you wish to send from all institutions previously attended, you may send to the following address:

Other Application Information

  • Application Fee: $90, ($90 for international students) payable with online application. Fee waived on case by case based upon request.
     
  • Application Deadline: The Program in Neuroscience ordinarily accepts new students only for the fall semester. The deadline for applications is December 1st. Interviews typically begin late January for fall admission. If it is not possible to send GRE scores for arrival by December 1st, please contact Kirsten at kirstencg@arizona.edu.
  • Application Status: To check the status of your application please contact Kirsten Cloutier Grabo (kirstencg@arizona.edu, 520-621-8380).
  • International Students:
    The Program in Neuroscience strongly encourages the prospective student to arrange a personal interview with an American scientist working in his or her country. The scientist should send an evaluation of the student's potential as a graduate student to the Program address given above. If it is impossible to arrange an interview with an American scientist, an evaluation of the prospective student's academic record by a scientist familiar with the American academic system is desirable.
